STARSkate Assessments

Following the Skate Canada STARSkate Curriculum, there are assessments in all four disciplines.

Whitecourt Skating Club is fortunate to have coaches on staff who are able to complete STAR 1 - 5 (low) assessments in house. Our Low Assessment Chair gathers the results from the coaches each month and enters them into Skate Canada's system.

STAR 6 - GOLD (high) assessments are scheduled throughout the year. Our High Assessment Chair works with the coaches to establish a schedule to be approved by the Skate AB|NT|NU Evaluator who travels to Whitecourt to complete the assessments.

Freeskate Assessments

Skaters are first assessed on Freeskate Elements (STAR 1 - Gold) and then their appropriate STAR Program (STAR 2 - Gold, as per the Technical Program Requirements).

Skills Assessments

Skaters are assessed on their skills at each STAR level (STAR 1 - Gold).

Artistic Assessments

Skaters are assessed on their Artistic Program at STAR 5, 7, 9 and Gold.
